North Arcot Special Godumai Rava Puliyodharai Recipe - Broken Wheat/Dalia Puliogare
Broken Wheat or Dalia is a popular grain in India and Middle East. High in fibre, Proteins and Vitamin B, it is also a wonderful weight loss option. We know eating dahlia is boring but you can always give it a twist to make it even more delicious. North Arcot Special Godumai Rava Puliyodharai is such recipe which will be loved by everyone in your family. If you have made a batch of Instant Puliyogare Podi, your North Arcot Special Rava Puliyodharai will be ready in a jiffy. Or you can use store bought Puliyogare powder as well.
Ingredients

1 cup Broken Wheat (Dalia/ Godumai Rava)

1 tablespoon Ghee

or oil

1 tablespoon Raw Peanuts (Moongphali)

5-7 Cashew nuts

halved

1 sprig Curry leaves
-
1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai/ Kadugu)

2 tablespoons Puliodarai Powder

Salt

Instructions
Step 1
To begin making North Arcot Special Godumai Rava Puliyodharai, heat a pan over low flame and dry roast the dalia till it becomes fragrant and then transfer it to a vessel
Step 2
Wash and cook the dalia in a pressure cooker with 2 cups of water and pressure cook for two whistles
Step 3
Once the dalia is cooked, keep it aside
Step 4
Make sure that you don’t overcook the dalia
Step 5
Heat one teaspoon ghee or oil in a wide pan over low heat
Step 6
Saute the peanuts and cashew nuts till golden brown and set it aside
Step 7
In the same pan, heat the remaining oil, add curry leaves, mustard seeds, Puliyodharai powder and a half cup of water
Step 8
Keep stirring
Step 9
It will start leaving oil when it gets thick
Step 10
Once it starts leaving oil, add the cooked dalia, mix well and cook over low heat for 1-2 minutes

Add salt if required and turn off the heat

Transfer the Godumai Rava Puliyodharai into a serving plate and serve
