Kerala Style Karamani Thoran Recipe - Yard Beans Stir Fry With Coconut
Kerala Style Karamani Thoran Recipe (Yard Beans Stir Fry with Coconut) has all the flavors of Kerala cuisine right from fresh coconut to the use of coconut oil. A side dish that has ground coconut, green chilli, curry leaves and it is tossed over karamani.

300 grams Green Chawli Beans (Yard long beans/Karamani/Barbati)

1 teaspoon Coconut Oil

1 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai/ Kadugu)

1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)

8 Curry leaves

1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)

To Be Ground To Coarse Mixture

1/4 cup Fresh coconut

grated

2 Green Chillies

2 sprig Curry leaves

Salt

Instructions
Step 1
To begin making the Kerala Style Karamani Thoran Recipe, blend all the ingredients "to be ground" including coconut, green chillies, curry leaves, salt in a mixer grinder and make a coarse paste

Keep it aside

In a heavy bottom pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and allow it to crackle

When they crackle, add curry leaves
Step 5
Add chopped yard beans, the ground coconut mixture and give it a stir
Step 6
Add salt to taste and stir fry for about 3 to 4 minutes until the Karamani is well incorporated

Once done, serve warm
