Bengali Style Sheem Poshto Recipe - Flat Beans In Poppy Seeds
Bengali Style Sheem Poshto Recipe (Flat Beans in Poppy Seeds) is a recipe made with flat beans in other words called as Hyacinth Beans which is a very popular vegetable across India. This is one of the most famous way of making the Bengali curry with poppy seeds known as the Poshto Bata.
Ingredients

250 grams Flat Green Beans

ends cut and chopped into half

2 Potatoes (Aloo)

skin peeled and cut into medium sized pieces

1 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai/ Kadugu)

1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)

1 teaspoon Kalonji (Onion Nigella Seeds)

Mustard oil

4 tablespoons Poppy seeds

2 Green Chilli

Instructions
Step 1
To begin making the Bengali Style Sheem Poshto Recipe, first prepare all the vegetables and keep it ready
Step 2
Grind the poppy seeds with green chilli along with little water to a smooth paste
Step 3
Heat a kadai with mustard oil, add mustard seeds, onions seeds and allow them to crackle for 10 seconds
Step 4
After 10 seconds, add the flat beans and fry them till they soften a little
Step 5
Later, add in your chopped potato and fry again for another 10 minutes by closing it with a lid
Step 6
Once the potatoes are lightly cooked, add the ground poshto paste along with turmeric powder, salt, sugar and little bit of water
Step 7
Mix well, and saute them for another 10 minutes until the gravy thickens and you get a dry curry
